I have had to wait to publish this post because it was not public information, but now I think I can =)
About 2 weeks ago, Dean and I were out to dinner and his phone rings. It was his boss. His boss rarely calls him at home, so something was going on. They spoke for a few minutes and all I heard was Dean saying “uh hu” a lot, until he said “let me check with Kaston, and I will get back to you”.
What the hell would he need to check with me for on a work issue? Well after he got off the phone he smiled and said, “there is a company out in California that needs help on a Wii game. They are having difficulty finding enough experienced people to work on the title and they want to send me out there for a few months to give them a hand”
“Hell yeah!” was my reply. He calls his boss back and lets him know.
Now here it is less than 2 weeks after that call and I sit writing you from a furnished 2 bed 2 bath apartment less than 2 blocks from Venice Beach in sunny California where the high today is 68 degrees!
The company is paying for our apartment, food, and gas along with 4 round trip flights back to Texas whenever we want. As a bonus, we get to keep the frequent flier miles we rack up which means I can get Molly and Holli out here for free!
We hope to see many movie stars and visit many places while we are here. We have already seen one landmark, The Hotel California! I promise to take lots of pictures and videos and make at least one post a week.
Time to take a nap!

What a good time to have gas paid for. Venice Beach! Does that mean that pink hair is back? Or would that be too conservative for VB? I think you can get a Master’s degree just by walking and observing life on Venice Beach.

Actually, I have seen less colored hair than I thought I would. This area is mostly populated by muscle types, both male and female, that tend to have very dark tans and sun-bleached hair.

Didn’t look at this until last week, 12th or 13th, but had heard about the “possibility” of a job for Dean to do in Calif, with no mention of it being for the both of you……….Sounds tremendous……..we’ll be looking to hear from you as you have time to tell all about it…….
