Another Walkthrough
Here’s another walkthrough of the house that we’re buying, done with a much higher quality camera. Kaston decided not to do a voiceover on this one.

So here’s the deal. Our townhome that we’re building has been “4 to 6 months out” for about 8 months now; they haven’t broken ground on it, and there’s no telling when they will. Meanwhile, our apartment lease is up in January, and the new management wants to raise our rent by about $300. We don’t want to pay that much for this apartment, and we don’t want to move into another apartment with no idea about when our townhome will be done, so we took the third option: we got our earnest money back (in full) from the townhome company, and we’re buying a house.
Since the last time we looked at houses, the market has gotten much, much better for buyers. We managed to find an incredible remodelled 3-bed 2.5-bath home for something like 25% less than we were going to pay for the townhome (which was smaller, had no yard, and had HOA fees to boot).
First, we’ve got a video walkthrough of the house with Kaston narrating. Unfortunately we only had our camera phones with us and not our real camera, so the quality isn’t great.
And here are a ton of pictures!
Since Wednesday (12-12-07) I’ve put myself on a pretty strict diet and started working out at our apartment’s gym regularly. I’ve been keeping a record of my weight each day after I work out, and using a webpage called skinnyr to create as graph a I go.
So, to keep me motivated, I’m posting that graph here on the blog where anyone who wants to can be a fitness coach for me by keeping an eye on my graph and yelling at me if I stop recording weights on it or if I start going back up. Staying motivated on my own is hard, so hopefully y’all can help me out!
Since this post will get pushed off of the front page eventually, I created a copy that is easier to get to. If you look over on the right side of this page there is a link that says “Weight Loss”. Just go to that link to see the latest graph any time.
