Yesterday I posted fliers in the complex about the kitties with their picture and today the manager of the grooming at Pet Smart came by with her kids to pick one out. The 7 year old girl and 5? year old boy each wanted a different one, so they ended up taking the “twins”. I am happy to see them go off together, but kinda sad because they were scared to death of the loud kids.
In a week or so they will be just fine and I will stop by Pet Smart to see how they are doing occasionally. She promised that tomorrow she would call to let me know how they did their first night.
I only wished they did not have their heart set on taking them tonight. It would have been best if they had a few visits to get accustomed to the family. I hope it is not too traumatic for them.

Maybe Runty McRuntface is destined to become Runty McRuntface-Kolbachinski-Kusler?

Pending on the test results from a neuro consult, we have talked about it. If he will have a short life, then we will keep him. If he will have to take medication the rest of his life for the seizures/epilepsy then either we will keep him or Mellissa upstairs will. If this is something that can be fixed (like just a reaction to having worms), then we will find him a special home. I doubt the deafness is reversible, so he will have special needs that will always have to be met. For a cat, being deaf is more of a problem for owners than the cat, their vision and sense of smell are so much better than ours that I bet even a deaf cat knows more about his environment than we do!
Next Tuesday we should know what is wrong with him.
