Hmm, what does one do when they get the neighbors gay porn? I see him several times a day walking his dog and we wave or smile to each other. Last week, the mailman put his gay porn in our box. I don’t have an issue with it at all, but I don’t want him to feel weird. I stuck it on his door, but I am wondering if I should leave a note saying we got it, or should I just let him walk around wondering who knows he is gay? I don’t think he is out and I know that is a sensitive topic for closeted gays. or maybe he is not gay and just likes gay porno mags!
In kitten news, Runty is NOT gonna die. Yesterday (I should note on the first pass I typed “yesterGAY =) he had a myriad of tests and all the biggies came back negative. Today I should get the the liver results which hopefully will shed light on the problem. They think it is a brain infection and sent me home with antibiotics and anti seizure meds. He has not had a seizure in 3 days now. Over the weekend he had a few and Dean finally got to see one. I think he now understands why I was so upset after seeing 6 of those in one day.
After talking about it, Dean and I have decided to keep Runty. He will probably have to be on anti seizure meds the rest of his life at 2 doses a day, but they are cheap (under $20 a bottle that will last several months). If you can believe it, at 8 weeks old he is only 1 pound! He will probably always be a tiny cat, so I guess you can say that Runty is a wish come true; Dean and I always talk about having a perma-kitten!
In job news, I started packing over the weekend and got too depressed and had to stop. Last night cuddled up next to Dean I thought, “I only have 4 more days to fall asleep next to him.” I love the idea of seeing a new place and living there for a while, but I just have such strong connections to my home in the form of warm fuzzy things (and yes Dean falls into that category!).
Since Dean will have to give the meds 2x a day to Runty, he has been doing them on his own since we got them. It is sad having to leave Runty on his own with 2 semi-hostile cats all day long, but it can’t be helped. I worry if he has a seizure in a less than ideal setting, like on the arm of a chair or on top of the warm receiver (his favorite spot). Maybe we ought to look into getting a kennel for him to be in during the day. He might not like it, but he will be safe from himself and the other kitties. Yeah I think we will do that.
Oh yeah, it is snowing =)

Yesterday I posted fliers in the complex about the kitties with their picture and today the manager of the grooming at Pet Smart came by with her kids to pick one out. The 7 year old girl and 5? year old boy each wanted a different one, so they ended up taking the “twins”. I am happy to see them go off together, but kinda sad because they were scared to death of the loud kids.
In a week or so they will be just fine and I will stop by Pet Smart to see how they are doing occasionally. She promised that tomorrow she would call to let me know how they did their first night.
I only wished they did not have their heart set on taking them tonight. It would have been best if they had a few visits to get accustomed to the family. I hope it is not too traumatic for them.

Runty had another seizure today. It was not as violent as the ones before, but more could follow in the hours to come. He is sleeping now; they really exhaust him.
I thought we might be done with them, but I guess not. The first set of them left him partially deaf we think I just hope he will be okay.

Yesterday Anne called me and she teasingly said, “Contrary to our belief, you are not a hardened criminal!”. She then proceeded to offer me the position of Assistant Manager! I will get a base of $36,000 with up to a 20% bonus every year so I could potentially get $43,200 a year. She then gave me a list of options for training:
- Minneapolis, Minnesota
- Atlanta, Georgia
- Cincinnati, Ohio
- Rochester, New York
- Memphis, Tennessee
- Denver, Colorado
I chose New York as my first pick and Colorado as my second pick. I will leave next Monday (Jan 29th) or the Monday after (Feb 5th). So soon! The sad part is that I will miss Dean and Holli’s birthday AND me and Dean’s 5 year anniversary =( But because BWW is paying for everything and I get stipend pay, I can mail him something. I just hope that I am put up in a nice hotel for the 5 week stent.
I should find out today when and when I will go. I hope that it is the 5th so I have enough time to pack. I will also need to buy another suitcase in order to fit all the stuff I will need. I should make a list so I don’t forget the little things.
After 5 months I finally have a job, our income will almost exactly double, I can start grad school (BWW does tuition reimbursement), we will get our debt paid off, and we will finally be truly on our own; fully grown, self sufficient adults.
It is all so surreal…
UPDATE: Anne Just called and I leave on the 4th (starts 5th) and I did not get either of my choices; I will be going to Omaha Nebraska =( I was hoping to use this trip to see someplace different, not the same ‘ol stuff we have here. I bet it is no different that Dallas. If anyone finds some cool stuff I might enjoy there, let me know.

Click the thumbnail to see the full size pic. Runty is on the left with the “little” twin on the right. In other kitty news, they gray one Dean called Midori went home with Jessica day before yesterday. I took a few hundred pics today to make up fliers to put to find them a home, out of all of those, there are maybe 5 that are really good. This one is one of my favorites!
As I get more edited I pill put them up here.
