It is 3am, and I can’t sleep because the pain is horrible! Before, it just hurt when I tried to pee, which was very frequent. But now, it hurts constantly!
I did some research on UTIs and I am a classic case:
-frequent urination
-blood in urine
-pain when urinating
-continuous pain in urethra and upper pubic bone area
-only a small amount of urine each potty visit
I know how interesting it must be to hear about my urinary tract, but writing this has taken my mind off of the pain for a bit.
Just took my temp, and it is normal, which means the infection is not in my kidneys. I think tomorrow I will go to the doc and get some antibiotics.
We usually go to Minor Emergency of Denton for any doctor visits we need because they only charge us 1/2 price for the visit (normal price is $40) and the doc usually hooks me up with enough free samples to fill my prescription, but we don’t live in Denton anymore.
There is another “urgent care” place here in Lewisville I can call. Hopefully they are not too expensive.

UPDATE: It’s 4:30 now and, as you can see, I am still up.
The pain went away for about 10 minutes while I was laying on the couch, but as soon as I noticed, “hey it doesn’t hurt”, it started hurting again. =(
The best I can describe it is like pipe cleaners are running back and forth through my pee hole (pardon the uncouthness!) and then when I actually pee, a porcupine facing the wrong way is coming out.
I will continue to watch PBS at night, which has some trippy stuff this time of night. For all those concerned about me, I will keep you updated.
George, I blame this partly on you!
I bet you are like, “wtf did I do?” Well you made a crack about my low libido and how someone my age should be more “active”. Well we were, and I guess on one occasion one of us did not soap long enough to kill all the bacteria or bacteria got picked up afterwards, and now here I sit at 4:34 am.
If there is a God, did it think it a joke to put all of our (women) facilities so close together? I mean come on! Why can’t we do #1 and #2 trough our feet or something! lol!

I’ll try again …

This is bizarre … where are my posts going?
3rd and final attempt.
Look at it this way Kaston … at least geting the infection was a lot of fun.

Let me know that you DID go to the doctor today, OK? And short of redesigning the female anatomy, I guess all you can do is keep your fluid intake high, and don’t procrastinate about going to the bathroom. UT infections are endemic among school teachers who never get time to go pee because they hold it for hours.

Oh yeah, I read all of that last night when I could not sleep. I feel like I am a semi-expert in UTIs now!
I am looking around to go to the doc now. My friend Prabha has an excellent pphysician and I am trying to get a hold of her at work so that I can get the info.
I will also call the urgent care place down the street.
George, I have NO clue what is going on with your posts! I will get Dean to look into it.

Kaston/Dean … it appears that if I enter

lol ?

It only posts to the point where I enter the “heart” symbol … perhaps Dean knows what the problem is with the, I assume, less than character.
Kaston, somewhere you mentioned medical insurance and how lucky I was in Canada. In a way you are correct. Doctor visits, hospital stays, surgery … they are all covered and don’t cost a thing. You must pay for cosmetic surgery though. So if you wanted a boob job it would cost you unless you have your doctor complete a few forms stating that the surgery is for health reasons, then it is covered.
On the negative side … waits are long in hospitals, waits for certain surgeries are long … I believe the wait times are much less in the US … at least that’s what I have read.
I hope you’re feeling much better.
Get well.

Kaston,
You have to go to the doctor and get treated, or you’re likely to wind up in the hospital. Put it on a credit card. Yes, you’re in debt, but how are you going to get a job and pay off debt if you are sick? Go to the doctor.

George, the waits here are hours long. Even if you have an appointment, it is never on time.
But my experiences are in free clinics (8 hour waits in some cases) and minor emergency places (2+ hour wait, but you have to pay).
I think I have a 6 month grace period on student services at UNT, maybe tomorrow I will see if I can get an appointment there. I am sure they are cheaper.
