What a rip off

Well I *was* going to see if I could go to the doctor, but after calling around, there is no way in hell I am!  These bastards want $100 JUST for an office visit.  I ask them why it was so much, and they said, “don’t worry about it, your insurance will cover it”.  I said, “what insurance, because I don’t have any.”  They said “oh” and then I hung up.

Crap JUST like this was why my mom died.  We did not have insurance and could not afford doctors so she died from complications from a fucking spider bite!

I could drive down to denton and go to the minor emergency place, but to do that I would have to put gas in the car and then I would not be able to afford the visit.  If I wanted, I could get an advance on Dean’s next paycheck and easily afford it, but I have something against ME going into debt to pay for someones else’s sports car, 3 story home, or kid’s name brand clothes.  THEY should pay ME to come in because they have too much money.  Greedy bastards!

Psh! a hundred bucks JUST to sit in a waiting room with sick people only to sit more in a tiny cold room with paper sheets to wait for a doctor that will spend a total of 1 minuet in the room with you.  NO ONE is worth 100 bucks a minuet!
I will just continue to take the OTC meds I have and hope for the best

I want to scream!

It is 3am, and I can’t sleep because the pain is horrible! Before, it just hurt when I tried to pee, which was very frequent. But now, it hurts constantly!

I did some research on UTIs and I am a classic case:
-frequent urination
-blood in urine
-pain when urinating
-continuous pain in urethra and upper pubic bone area
-only a small amount of urine each potty visit

I know how interesting it must be to hear about my urinary tract, but writing this has taken my mind off of the pain for a bit.

Just took my temp, and it is normal, which means the infection is not in my kidneys. I think tomorrow I will go to the doc and get some antibiotics.

We usually go to Minor Emergency of Denton for any doctor visits we need because they only charge us 1/2 price for the visit (normal price is $40) and the doc usually hooks me up with enough free samples to fill my prescription, but we don’t live in Denton anymore.

There is another “urgent care” place here in Lewisville I can call. Hopefully they are not too expensive.

UPDATE: It’s 4:30 now and, as you can see, I am still up.

The pain went away for about 10 minutes while I was laying on the couch, but as soon as I noticed, “hey it doesn’t hurt”, it started hurting again. =(
The best I can describe it is like pipe cleaners are running back and forth through my pee hole (pardon the uncouthness!) and then when I actually pee, a porcupine facing the wrong way is coming out.

I will continue to watch PBS at night, which has some trippy stuff this time of night. For all those concerned about me, I will keep you updated.

George, I blame this partly on you!

I bet you are like, “wtf did I do?” Well you made a crack about my low libido and how someone my age should be more “active”. Well we were, and I guess on one occasion one of us did not soap long enough to kill all the bacteria or bacteria got picked up afterwards, and now here I sit at 4:34 am.

If there is a God, did it think it a joke to put all of our (women) facilities so close together? I mean come on! Why can’t we do #1 and #2 trough our feet or something! lol!

Product only contains 25% juice

So I have a urinary tract infection I think (hurts when I pee and a little blood in the urine) probably from drinking so many sodas on my vacation.

I know the remedy is cranberry juice, so I go and get some.  I make sure to look at the ingredients b/c not all juice is real juice.  Come to find out, there is no such thing as 100% cranberry juice.  It is to strong they say.  So I try to find the one that has the least amount of crap in it others than juice.

I get some, and drink about 1/2 of the large container of it.  I then notice the tiny tiny font that reads “product only contains 25% juice”.

What a waste of my time!  I have drank nothing but that crap for 2 days and it was only flavored sugar water.

NPR Story

As some of you know, I have turned into a NPR (national public radio) junkie. Today I heard a plug for a story that will air tomorrow on The Talk Show:

Wednesday, 08/30
One year ago this week, Hurricane Katrina devastated much of the Gulf Coast and submerged most of New Orleans under several feet of filthy water and mud. How are things there today? Is the city making a recovery? How are survivors coping and what lessons can be learned from the government’s handling of the crisis? Krys Boyd will talk with several guests this hour - David Oestreicher, President of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and Foundation, and Dr. Nicole Dash, a University of North Texas Sociologist who studies disasters, social vulnerability, and inequality. We’ll spend the last part of the hour with Joe Demma, investigations editor for the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, which uncovered massive FEMA aid fraud prior to Hurricane Katrina and continues to investigate the federal agency today. Demma and his staff are featured in “Crisis Mismanagement,” the premier episode of a new PBS series AIR: America’s Investigative Reports which will air Sunday, September 3rd at 1pm on KERA 13.

I took a class with Dr. Dash, Sociology of Sexuality, a few years ago! She was a most awesome prof and I loved her class. It is so cool to hear someone I know to be on NPR.

As soon as it is available, I will link the story here so you can listen.
